William Urquhart 267381 Seaforth Highlanders
DUNDEE SOLDIER AGAIN WOUNDED.
Mr Robert Urquhart, 55 Victoria Road, has received a telegram from the War Office stating that his son Lance-Corporal Wm. Urquhart, has been dangerously wounded. Lance-Corporal Urquhart joined the Seaforth Highlanders early in 1915, and had taken part in much severe fighting on the western front. He was wounded in the big offensive last spring.
Before enlisting Lance-Corporal Urquhart was a clerk with Messrs A. & S. Henry, Dundee, and was a chorister of St Paul’s Cathedral Church.

DEATHS
Urquhart. —Lance-Corporal William Urquhart, Seaforth Highlanders, died in Hospital, London, 21st April, from wounds received in action on Easter Monday, aged 24, only son of Robert Urquhart, 65 Victoria Road, Dundee (late of Pittenweem)
William initially served under the number S/8058 then 5011 and finally under 267381 in ranks Pte and latterly L/Cpl. He was wounded with Gunshot Wound to left foot on 7 Nov 1915 evacuated via Ambulance Train No 11 then HM Hospital Ship St. George. He died in April 1917 and lies in Balgay cemetery, Dundee. He was the son of Robert McRobert Urquhart of Victoria Road. It is thought he may have served variously in 8th and 6th Bns of the Seaforths.
