William has 3 separate entries on the LAC site. It appears that he first attested with 116th Battalion, 02.12.1915, Reg No 746439, before being struck off strength as a deserter 15.06.1916. He then re-attested with the 149th Battalion, 27.06.1916 Reg No 844307, only to be struck off strength as a deserter the very same day. He finally attested with the 235th Battalion, 05.08.1916, Reg No 1027233, before deserting for a third and final time 22.09.1917.
