When William enlisted he lists a George Mitchell c/o Mrs Robinson, 58 Provost Rd, Dundee, as his next of kin. William was at one time attached to the 4th Field Company, Canadian Engineers as Batman to Captain Art Douglas Fisken. His brother George is believed to be Pte George Guild Mitchell, 1096218, 5th Battalion, Canadian Railway Troops.
