More about William Fox
William joined the Territorials in 1907 as a private and when war broke out he was mobilised and went to France in 1914. His health gave way, and he was discharged in 1916, after having served for two years. He died at his home in Dundee on 7 December 1918. He had a brother who also fought and died during the Great War, he was Sgt James Fox 2154, 1st Battalion Black Watch, who died of wounds 26.01.1915.
The Arbroath Roll of Honour records William’s rank as Sergeant although he is listed as a Private on C.W.G.C.
