More about William Drever
William Drever was the son of Mr Sinclair and Mrs Barbara Rendell Drever. He was born on the Island of Westray in the Orkney Islands and was married to Mrs Rose Drever ,nee Bell, of 8 School Road, Downfield, Dundee. His ship, the cargo ship SS Moidart, was torpedoed and sunk in the English Channel 7 miles south east of Lyme Regis, Dorset by the German submarine UC-77 with the loss of fifteen of her crew. William Drever is commemorated on the Tower Hill Memorial in London.
