Walter served on ‘Warrior’ from 23.11.15 to 13.6.16 and served aboard her at the Battle of Jutland. Warrior was heavily damaged by German shelling and withdrew from the action as she was taking on water, she floundered and sank 1 June 1916, 743 of her crew were rescued before she sank. Vivid II, which was a Shore base, from 14.6.16 to 16.6.16 and from May to July 1917.
He was transferred to the Royal Navy on 19.6.16 as a Stoker, 2nd Class. Last ship was Leander which was a Depot ship for torpedo boat destroyers, 1.7.18 to 9.10.19
