James has no known grave but is remembered on the Menin Gate Memorial. He was the brother of Guardsman Andrew Stiven, 1st Battalion, Scots Guards, who was killed in action 15.09.1916 and Gunner John Stiven, 175631, 463rd Battery, Royal Field Artillery
