More about Robert Marshall
Robert Marshall was the son of Mrs Mary Marshall, Caresbecke, Carlogie Road, Carnoustie and worked in the Engineering Department of Dundee Harbour Office. He volunteered to join the Royal Marines in September 1914 for service in the Royal Naval Division and was drafted to the Deal Barracks in Kent. After initial training he was sent with the RND Engineers to Gallipoli. Robert Marshall was killed in action, probably during preparations for the Third Battle of Krithia. He is buried in the Twelve Tree Copse Cemetery 2-D-10, Gallipoli and is commemorated on the Arbroath Roll of Honour.
