More about Reginald Alexander John Warneford
Reginald A J Warneford trained and qualified as Mercantile Marine Deck Officer at the Dundee Navigation School. After the outbreak of war he volunteered to join the Royal Naval Air Service. He was awarded the Victoria Cross for shooting down the Zeppelin LZ-37 airship over Belgium. Shortly after his award he was killed in an plane crash in France. Reginald Warneford was buried in the Brompton Cemetery, London and a Naval Guard was provided by Crystal Palace Royal Naval Division personnel.
