Peter D. Fisher Lieutenant Royal Field Artillery
DUNDEE OFFICER HONOURED.
Lieutenant Peter D. Fisher, R.F.A., youngest son of Mr Peter Fisher, tramway engineer, Dundee, has been awarded the Croix de Guerre.
Lieut. Fisher, who is 22 years of age, joined up in the first month of the war. He enlisted in the A.S.C., but shortly afterwards was transferred to the R.F.A., in which he received his commission. He was with the famous 51st Division throughout the heavy fighting on the Somme in 1916, but latterly was attached to a South Midland Division in Italy. Although wounded on 15th June, Lieut. Fisher remained at his post. The gallant officer was educated at Dundee High School, and holds several medals for gymnastics. Mr Fisher has other two sons in the army.
