David Lyon 20204 Highland Light Infantry
DUNDEE SOLDIER DROWNED IN RIVER ALLAN.
Private David Lyon, Highland Light Infantry, whose residence is in Isles’ Lane, Dundee, was drowned while bathing in the River Allan at Bridge of Allan.
He was seen to wade up the river by a comrade, who chancing to look up later and seeing no sign of Lyon, raised the alarm. Two hours later his body was recovered from the water.
