More about John R. Miller

John Miller was born in Belfast. His Dundee connection is through the Hilltown address and his name being on the Lodge Ancient Memorial. His Service Record in the National Archives does not show any middle name. This entry might have been confused with John R Millar above. His record shows that he was marked “Run” on 11 November 1918 despite an unblemished record and Superior annual assessments. This would imply that his ship was at anchor or in port on that day. The “Run” notation was removed and his death recorded as an accidental drowning on 11 November 1918. His body was not found and his name is on the Plymouth Naval Memorial on Plymouth Hoe.
