More about John Fairweather
John Fairweather Australian Imperial Forces
Sergeant John Fairweather, of the Australian Imperial Forces, who has just been awarded the Military Medal for bravery, is a grandson of the late Mr James Ogilvie, The Planetrees, 49 Rankine Street, Dundee. Sergeant Fairweather’s parents who both belong to Dundee, went to Australia about a quarter of a century ago, and their son was an engineer in Sydney, N.S.W., prior to joining the Australian Artillery in August, 1916.
He came over to France in the beginning of last year, was severely wounded in October, and is now in Weymouth Hospital. A brother, David, is at present in France.
