James D. Horne 45737 Royal Field Artillery
CRIEFF GUNNER DIES OF WOUNDS.
Mr and Mrs Horne, Commissioner Street, Crieff, yesterday received intimation that their son, James D. Horne, a gunner in the Royal Field Artillery, had died in hospital in France from wounds received in action last Saturday.
The deceased was 21 years of age, and before enlisting was employed as a ploughman at Dryburgh, Lochee. He enlisted in November, 1914, and proceeded to France about the middle of September. An elder brother is on active service in France as a member of the 8th Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders.
