DUNDEE MEMBER OF BLACK WATCH
IS KILLED IN ACTION.
Mr Edward Boland, 20 Isla Street, Dundee, has received official intimation of the death in action on 23rd August of his son, Private James Boland, A Company, 1st Black Watch. Private Boland, who was 21 years of age, enlisted in August of last year, and has been at the front since April last. When war was declared he was employed as a miner at Bowhill Colliery, and resided with Mrs McMahon, Westfield Row, Cardenden. He was the first in the Cardenden district to join the colours after the outbreak of war.
