DUNDEE OFFICER GAINS M.C.
Lieut. (acting Captain) James A. B. Menzies, 208th Siege Battery R.G.A., has been awarded the Military Cross for distinguished service in France. Lieut. Menzies, who is the son of Mr J. G. Menzies, 130 Arbroath Road, Dundee, received a commission in December, 1914, while a student at University Collage, and was attached for a year to the Fourth Defences. It was about this time the German submarines made attempts to reach the fleet at Rosyth. Early in 1916 he went to France, and took part in much of the severe fighting until wounded a few months ago. He was previously mentioned in despatches. He is now with the forces in Salonika.
