J Robert Donald was born in Dundee and, before he signed onboard the SS Levenpool in November 1914, wrote that the SS Bradford City had been his previous ship. He lived at 15 Hartington Street, Newcastle and died of heart disease, aged 41, at Marseille in France. The Levenpool operated between Britain and the Mediterranean.
