Private James Guild was wounded in action in July 1917 and subsequently succumbed to his wounds whilst a patient at RAMC Casualty Clearing Station No. 12.
James shares a final resting place with Guardsman Pearson McKend, 17721, 3rd Battalion Coldstream Guards, who died of wounds, 06.07.1917.

GUILD―Died of wounds received in action at Casualty Clearing Station, on the 6th July 1917, Private James Guild, stretcher-bearer, Black Watch (R. Highlanders), aged 21 years, dearly beloved second son of Mr and Mrs Alexander Guild, 167 Alexander Street, Dundee. – Inserted by his sorrowing father and mother, his only sister, Meg (Mrs Kennedy), and brother Will.
