More about George Pride
George Pride M.C. Captain Scottish Rifles
DUNDEE OFFICER GAINS MILITARY CROSS.
Captain George Pride, 10th Scottish Rifles, son of Mr R. J. A. Pride, 4 Oakwood Terrace, Dundee, has gained the Military Cross for bravery. He is the second son of Mr Pride’s to receive this award, Second-Lieutenant Frank Pride, Royal Engineers, having been awarded the M.C. quite recently.
Captain Pride received his commission in December, 1914, and has been on active service since 1915. The gallant Captain has also been twice mentioned in despatches, and has seen a great deal of fighting with the 15th Division. Before enlisting he was a student at St Andrews University, and was a member of the University O.T.C. Another brother, Lieut. Ralf Pride, Loyal North Lancs., was wounded by shrapnel three months ago.
