DUNDEE SOLDIER STRUCK WITH SHRAPNEL
WHILE ATTENDING TO WOUNDED COMRADE.
Private George Lemen, Scots Guards, son of Mr Robert Lemen, a member of the detective staff of Dundee Police Force, has been wounded. Private Lemen took part in a charge by the Scots Guards, and was engaged binding the wound of a comrade when he was struck himself. He was bending over the wounded soldier, who had just remarked, “You are a lucky beggar,” when he was struck with shrapnel in the back of the neck. His elder brother, Private Robert Lemen of the Royal Fusiliers, is at present suffering from shell shock.
