More about Findlay Burns
Findlay Burns 1701 Black Watch (later 149766 Machine Gun Corps)
SHOT THROUGH THE ANKLE.
Private Findlay Burns, whose home is at 36 Dundonald Street, suffers from a gunshot wound in the foot and is now in hospital in England. He is 21 years of age, and had been connected with the Territorials for about a year prior to the outbreak of war. The official War Office intimation received by his parent’s states that Private Burns was transferred to hospital on the 13th, but from a letter which has come from the lad himself it would appear he had been wounded day or so previous. The bullet went right through the foot at the ankle.
Dundee Courier 3rd April 1915
Findlay is believed to be the brother of Pte James N. W. Burns, 15659, 1/7th Battalion, Gordon Highlanders
