David L. Leslie Second-Lieutenant King’s Liverpool Regiment
Mr and Mrs James S. Leslie, Carsebrae, Albany Terrace, Dundee, have received a telegram from the War Office informing them that their youngest son, Second-Lieutenant David L. Leslie, King’s Liverpool Regiment, has been admitted to hospital suffering from gunshot wounds in the left leg and right thigh. Lieut. Leslie who is 23 years of age, enlisted in the Royal Engineers in 1915, and received a commission in September last. He went to France a month later. Prior to joining up Lieut. Leslie was a civil engineer and surveyor in the employment of Messrs J. & F. Salmond, civil engineers, High Street, Dundee. Mr and Mrs Leslie have two sons James and George serving in the Royal Air Force, one a flight-commander and the other a sergeant.
