David B M Marshall was the son of Mr John Marshall of 20 Cleghorn Street, Dundee. In 1918 he was serving onboard the SS Zaida registered in Glasgow. He died from pneumonia in a hospital in Karachi on 24 October after being discharged from his ship on 15 October.
