Charles was the brother of Bombardier Arthur Stark, D.C.M. 636163, Royal Field Artillery, who also served and returned home safely.
For reasons unknown this man is not listed on the original Dundee Roll of Honour.
Charles Stark S/23949 Seaforth Highlanders
Pte. Charles Stark, Seaforths, son of Mr G. Stark, contractor, Fairmuir, is reported missing. He joined in January of this year, and went to the front in March last. His brother, Bomb. A. Stark, R.F.A., was recently awarded the D.C.M.

STARK___Reported missing on 20th July 1918, now presumed to have died on that date, 23949, Pte. Charles Stark, 3rd Seaforth Highlanders, aged 18 years, second youngest son of Mr and Mrs George Stark, 16 Fairfield St., Fairmuir, Dundee.
