Charles is believed to be the brother of Pte Peter Hughes, 22877, 2nd Battalion Royal Scots Fusiliers, who was killed in action 30.07.1916 & Pte James Hughes, 20653, 1st Battalion Royal Scots Fusiliers, who was killed in action, 03.05.1917.
