DUNDEE OFFICER GAINS MILITARY CROSS.
Lieut. (Acting Captain) Bertram Gordon Valentine, Black Watch, son of Mr E. S. Valentine, headmaster in the English department of Dundee High School, has been awarded the Military Cross.
Lieut. Valentine, who is 22 years of age, had just left school when he joined the R.E., in September, 1914, and a year later he obtained a commission in the Black Watch. He had been in France for over eighteen months.
