Alexander Dargie D.C.M. CZ/410 Drake Bn Royal Naval Division
DUNDEE SERGEANT-MAJOR’S SECOND HONOUR.
Battalion Sergeant-Major, Alexander Dargie, Drake Battalion, Royal Naval Division, youngest son of Mr David Dargie, 14 Russell Street, Dundee, has been awarded the D.C.M. for conspicuous bravery. The gallant sergeant- major, who also holds the Medaille Militaire, joined the R.N.D. in September, 1914, and had seen service in Gallipoli, prior to being drafted to France.
It was at Gallipoli that Sergeant-Major Dargie, won the Medaille Militaire. He is 24 years of age, and has two other brothers serving with the forces. Previous to enlistment he was employed in Dundee Gasworks. His wife resides at 40 Blackscroft, Dundee.
