More about Adam Miller
Adam Miller was the son of Mr Thomas G Miller of 4 Shields Place, Dunkeld Road, Perth and was born in Perth. He trained at the Dundee Institute of Technology in Bell Street. The Queen Adelaide, a steamer built in 1911, was sunk on 18 June 1917 by the German submarine U-70 while on a voyage from Montreal to Leith with a cargo of wheat. Three people died in the attack. The sinking happened 13 miles North East of St Kilda. Adam Miller is commemorated on the Tower Hill Memorial in London. There is a photograph of him and an account of his death on page three of the Perthshire Advertiser, 27 June 1917.
