More about David Aitken
David Aitken was the son of Mr W Aitken of the Strathmore Hotel, Coupar Angus and was born in Blairgowrie in 1875. He joined the Royal Naval Reserve at the Customs House in Dundee on 13 Nov 1909, Service Number 2200A but he left in 1912 when he became an Auto Chauffeur. In December 1913 he moved to Australia. David Aitken died in an accident in Manchester onboard HMAT Ajana, a Transport ship operated by the Australian Government. Death registered at Salford, Manchester in English records at age 32, dated Dec 1918. He is buried in the Balgay Cemetery, Dundee and his name is on the Lodge 105 Memorial.
