Robert is believed to be the brother of  Pte John Hannan Gibson, 23439 8th Seaforth Highlanders and Pte Samuel Gibson, 42705 9th Inniskilling Fusiliers, who was killed in action, 18.05.1918. Robert formerly served with the Duke of Wellingtons ( West Riding Regiment)
