More about J. M. Fraser

  1. M. Fraser   Royal Horse Artillery

WOUNDED DUNDEE BOMBARDIER

WHO PRODUCED PATRIOTIC SKETCH AT THE FRONT.

Bombardier J. M. Fraser, a Dundee member of the Royal Horse Artillery, who was recently wounded, has had the distinction of organising and producing a patriotic sketch.

The sketch, which was acted at a concert given to soldiers at a base camp at the front, is described by a critic as being the “star turn of the evening,” and this despite the fact that several popular artistes contributed to the programme.  Bombardier Fraser’s sketch which is entitled “Your King and Country Want You,” is a story of a shirker, who eventually comes to realise that his first duty is to his country, and who follows the example of his old comrades in responding to the call for men.

Bombardier Fraser has been at the front since the early days of the war.  He is a son of Mr Allister J. Fraser, 46c King Street, Dundee.  The Bombardier, besides having proved himself a good amateur dramatist, has written a poem on the noble stand of the 7th Division at Ypres.
