More about Edward Burns

Edward Burns   Black Watch

LOCHEE LAD WOUNDED.

A Lochee lad is also in the 4th Black Watch casualty list.  He is Private Edward Burns, who resides at 129 Lorne Street.  His parents this week received intimation from the War Office that he was admitted to hospital at Boulogne on 14th inst. suffering from slight injury to his back.  Mrs Burns however, has not yet received word as to how and where her son was wounded.

Although only 19 years of age, Private Burns has served with the “Fourth” for four years.  He was formerly employed as a calender worker in Camperdown Works, Lochee (Cox Bros., Ltd.)
