More about Joseph Lynch
- Lynch Black Watch
DUNDEE SOLDIER A VICTIM OF FROSTBITE.
Intimation was yesterday received by Mr J. Lynch, 44 Whorterbank, Lochee, that his son, Private J. Lynch 2d Black Watch, has been invalided home suffering from frostbite, to a Manchester hospital.
Private Lynch has seen five years previous service, and left Bombay for the front with the second Indian contingent. Last week a letter was received from him, in which he states that the Germans on all hands are being shot down like ninepins ; that the majority of those he has encountered are mere schoolboys, and that when they realise themselves to be in a tight corner they say, “Don’t kill us ; we are driven to this.
