More about Joseph McConnachie
Joseph McConnachie 70829 Royal Field Artillery
HONOUR FOR DUNDEE CORPORAL.
News has reached Mrs M’Connachie, 4 Isla Street, Dundee, that her husband Corporal Joe M’Connachie, R.F.A., has been decorated with the Croix de Guerre. In a letter he states that he received the honour for keeping his wires in order when almost the whole of the battery had become casualties, and he himself was gassed.
Corporal M’Connachie, who is 36 years of age, fought in the Hussars during the South African War. On the outbreak of the present war he rejoined the colours, and has served over three years in France. A brother, Harry, is also serving with the R.F.A., in France, while another brother has been discharged.
