CITY POLICEMAN’S GALLANTRY.
Sergeant David Small, R.G.A., who resides at 226 Blackness Road, Dundee, was yesterday presented with the Military Medal by Colonel Adamson, Broughty Castle.
Sergeant Small was a member of D/ 23 Battery (45 howitzer), won the decoration on 16th May last. A premature burst in the gun pit caused several casualties, and Sergeant Small who was among the wounded, assisted in the rescue of several members of the gun team, and displayed great gallantry.
A reservist in 1914, Sergeant Small proceeded abroad with the original Expeditionary Force, and has seen four years’ active service in France. He is a member of Dundee City Police.
