More about Robert Scott

Robert Scott   23380   Seaforth Highlanders

DUNDEE R.S.M. WINS MILITARY MEDAL.

R.S.M. Robert Scott, 1/5th Seaforth Highlanders, whose wife resides at 109 Lochee Road, Dundee, has gained the Military Medal.  The official report states:–“During the operations from 21st to 28th July, 1918, north-west of Nantouil this warrant officer controlled carrying and ration parties, even under most severe shell fire, and the coolness with which the parties were handled and moved to places of safety in the dark and under most difficult conditions rendered it possible for the men in the front line to have rations, water, and ammunition.  This warrant officer has been of the greatest assistance to his commanding officer during this operation.”

R.M.S. Scott has seen seventeen years’ service in the army.  He was mobilised at the outbreak of war, and went to France in 1915.  Prior to being mobilised he was sergeant-instructor of “Dundee’s Own.”
