James Leslie Black Watch
THREE DUNDEE BROTHERS WITH COLOURS
ONE WOUNDED AND ANOTHER TAKEN PRISONER.
Of three Dundee brothers serving with the colours, one has been wounded and another taken prisoner of war. Mrs Adams, 2 Annfield Street, Dundee, the sister of the soldiers, has had the intimation of the misfortune that has befallen her two brothers. Private James Leslie, 2d Black Watch, was struck in the right arm by an explosive bullet on 9th May, which did so much damage that the arm has had to be amputated in Boulogne Hospital, where he is now lying. This is the second time he has been wounded, a bullet having gone through his arm at the battle of Mons. Thirty-three years of age, and a reservist, he went through the Boer War.
The prisoner of war is Private William Leslie, who is attached to the Canadian contingent. He is 22 Years of age, and enlisted on the outbreak of war in Vancouver, whither he emigrated four years ago.
The third brother, Sergeant Peter Leslie, is at present at the front with the 4th Black Watch. He also served through the Boer War.
