Alexander Tran MM 28718 Kings Own Scottish Borderers
DUNDEE SOLDIER GAINS MILITARY MEDAL.
Private Alexander Tran, Scottish Horse, is another of Dundee’s young men who has gained honours in this war. Intimation has just been received that he has been awarded the Military Medal for gallant service in France. He was employed as a company runner, and carried messages under heavy fire at a critical period.
Private Tran, who is 25 years of age, joined up in 1916, and is at present on the Italian front. Previous to enlistment he was employed with Messrs John Dow & Co., iron and metal merchants, 7 Commercial Street, Dundee.
