DUNDEE MAN AWARDED D.C.M.
TOOK PART IN THE MONS RETREAT.
Coy.-Sergt.-Major John Cullerton, Connaught Rangers, whose wife resides at 80 Blackness Road, Dundee, has been awarded the Distinguished Conduct Medal for bravery at Le Cateau.
Sergt.-Major Cullerton, who was a reservist, was mobilised on the outbreak of war, and took part in the retreat from Mons. He was wounded, and after recovery proceeded to the Dardanelles, where he went through much hard fighting. He also served at Salonika and in Egypt, being latterly transferred to France.
The gallant soldier is at present lying in hospital in Glasgow suffering from wounds sustained in the fighting which took place prior to the signing of the armistice. This is the third occasion on which he has been wounded.
