Peter was the brother of 2nd Lt Alexander Elder Forsythe, 6/228, Canterbury Regiment, New Zealand Infantry, who was killed in action 06.05.1915.

DUNDEE SOLDIER WHO HAS GAINED
THE D.C.M. AND THE MILITARY MEDAL.
Private Peter Forsyth, King’s Shropshire Light Infantry, who has gained both the D.C.M. and the Military Medal, is at present residing with his parents at 29 Park Avenue, Dundee. Private Forsyth, was severely wounded some time ago, and is enjoying a short stay at home during his convalescence. He gained the D.C.M. some time ago and recently he was awarded the Military Medal for further conspicuous bravery in the field. His brother, Lieutenant A. Forsyth, Canterbury Infantry, New Zealand, was killed in action at the Dardanelles in May of last year.
