More about Peter Keir

  1. Keir   Royal Field Artillery

LOCHEE GUNNER’S BRAVERY.

Gunner P. Keir, Royal Field Artillery, whose parents reside at 24 Coupar Street, Lochee, has been commended for bravery by the Major-General commanding the division.  Several machine gun pits had been set on fire by an enemy shell, and Gunner Keir put out the flames in them at great personal risk.  The gallant soldier has received the congratulations of the Major-General for his fine act.  Prior to enlistment Gunner Keir was employed as a calender worker in Camperdown Jute Works, Lochee.  He has been at the front for over two years.
