Alexander was the brother of Guardsman David Chalmers Anderson, 10325, 1st Battalion Scots Guards, who was killed in action 16.09.1916 & Sgt George Anderson, M.M. 8836, Machine Gun Corps, who also served and returned home safely.
For reasons unknown Alexander is not listed on the original Dundee Roll of Honour.
