More about Charles Wemyss Barron Jarvis

For reasons unknown this man is not listed on the original Dundee Roll of Honour but is remembered on the Dundee High School Roll of Honour.

Charles Jarvis   Lieutenant   West Kents

Intimation of the death of Lieutenant Charles Jarvis, West Kents, was received in Tayport on Thursday, he having been killed in action.  Lieutenant Jarvis was a son of the late Captain Jarvis, well known in Tayport and Dundee in shipping circles, and returned home from Chili at the outbreak of the war and joined King Edward’s Horse.  He received a commission, and was posted to the West Kents.  He was well known and highly respected in Tayport, where his mother is still living.
