More about Frederick Thomas Mackenzie
For reasons unknown Fred is not listed on the original Dundee Roll of Honour, but is remembered on the Morgan Academy Honour Roll. Lieutenant Mackenzie was a Lecturer in the University of St Andrews, dux of the School in 1905, and the winner of several medals both at School and at University. Enlisted in the RFA. He was reported “missing” and later presumed killed in the retirement from St Quentin on 23 March 1918. Fred was one of two sons of Mr and Mrs Mackenzie, Riverview, Wormit.
Fred was the brother of 2nd Lieutenant John Kincaid Mackenzie, 8th Border Regiment, who was killed in action, 27.05.1918.
