John was the brother of Pte Duncan Barron S/22682, 6th Battalion, Cameron Highlanders, who was killed in action 21.03.1918.

For reasons unknown this man is not listed on the original Dundee Roll of Honour, but is remembered on James Watson & Son, Dundee, Roll of Honour.
