PETRIE―Killed in action on the 27th September, Private William Petrie, Scottish Rifles, (late of Church Street, Broughty Ferry), in his 21st year.

Private William Wood Petrie (20), Scottish Rifles, Wellington Place, Church Street Broughty Ferry, killed in action. Prior to enlisting he was an apprentice slater with Messrs Brand & Son, St Vincent Street, Broughty Ferry. He was a former pupil of the Wester School.
