For reasons unknown Godfrey is not listed on the original Dundee Roll of Honour. His real names was Godfrey Fox Guthrie but served as Fox.

He was the brother of Pte John Guthrie, S/4861, 9th Battalion Black Watch, who was killed in action, 25.09.1915 & Cpl William Guthrie, 1536, 4th Battalion Black Watch, who died of wounds, 19.01.1917.
