Private Alexander Stewart, Black Watch, son of Mrs William Stewart, 74 Dura Street was wounded during the fighting of last month. Private Alexander Stewart, is 24 years of age, and he went out to the front in October. He was leading a section of bomb-throwers, when a machine gun was turned on them, and he was as a result badly wounded. He has sustained a broken leg, and also suffers from wounds in the left arm and side. Before he enlisted, he was engaged with the Dundee trawlers.
A brother, Private Duncan Stewart was wounded in May of last year, and has since been discharged. He was also in the Black Watch, and is eighteen years of age. Still another member of the same family Private John A. Stewart, is in the army, his regiment being the Royal Scots.
