More about Frank Proctor Kyd
For reasons unknown Frank was not included in the original Dundee Roll of Honour.
Frank Porter Kyd Second Lieutenant Royal Warwickshire Regiment
FORMER DUNDEE MAN KILLED.
Amongst his old friends in Dundee, where he was for some years engaged, deep regret will be felt at the announcement of the death in action of Second Lieutenant Frank Proctor Kyd, elder son of the late Mr John Kyd, 7 Cluny Avenue, Edinburgh. For three years Lieutenant Kyd, who was married to a well-known Carnoustie lady, was on the staff of Messrs John N. Kyd & Co., jute spinners, Walton and Rashiewell Works, and for a short time after was with Messrs T. L. Miller & Co., Hillside Works. He thereafter proceeded to India, where he held a good appointment with the Alliance Jute Mills Ltd., but war had not been long started when he felt it his duty to answer the call for the motherland. Lieutenant Kyd received his commission in the East Surrey Regiment, but was subsequently attached to the Royal Warwickshire Regiment, with which he was serving as intelligence officer.
