BROUGHTY FERRY SCOTS GUARDSMAN KILLED.
Writing to the Rev James Burgess, Beach Parish Church, Broughty Ferry, Private Brand, of the Scots Guards, stated that Private William Flight, of the same regiment, had been killed. He requested Mr Burgess to inform Flight’s father (Sergeant William Flight, of the Broughty Ferry police) of his son’s death.
Private Flight was in the Lanarkshire police before he enlisted, and was a gardener in Broughty Ferry previously. Sergeant Flight has another son serving in the Lovat Scouts.
